Affiliate marketing: Earning some $$ on the side

There are so many models to making money online: PPC (Pay per click), PPL (Pay per lead), CPA(Cost per action), the confusing list goes on and on and ......
However out of all these models, i find affiliate marketing to be the most rewarding for the average joe - That's you and me btw ;-) and NOT all those "gurus" who are making their "so called" millions online.
The concept behind affiliate marketing is simple. You look for a product to promote and earn commissions on products sold. In the beginning it won't make you rich fast but it will help you to make a little cash on the side - with the right incentive, goals and ideas.
Investing your money into any business venture should be done wisely. Mindset, goals and how you achieve those goals without wasting your most important resource - i.e., your time is crucial.
A very interesting concept that has really helped me to start gaining a slow but steady "5$ daily" (in my case based on affiliation) can be found here.
